Does anyone know how to push safety eyes on easier. I feel like I just broke my thumbs

What I do is I put the back on backwards, so the smaller bit is touching the actual safety eye. It makes it more secure and it’s easier to put on!

The proplem with that is the safety eyes don’t stay on.
I used to do that, but then a lot of mine fell out if anyone tried to play with the plushie.
It works a little better if you do that with 2 backs for each eye. It can still be a little unstable for some sizes, but for most it holds

Once I’ve put the backs in place I melt the stalk and then flatten it to the plastic

I always do that. 
Does that mean I have been putting them on wrong, because that’s the only way my eyes fit for some reason. I tried flipping it, and it just slides off, even when I pushed it all the way in. It might be the brand I bought though. I haven’t seen them online anymore, so when I buy new eyes, I have to get a new brand.

if you don’t want to spend money on the tool you can use a pen cap! i’ve been using it for a while and it’s made it so much easier. you just have to put the open part of the cap on back washer. then you just press down.

When they are small I use a pen without ink. I rest the eye on a table and press from the inside.

For me if I push on it for 10-20 seconds it stays on like, forever
