Joann alternatives

I know we’re all wondering where we’re going to shop now and I’ve seen a few posts looking for recommendations, so I made a list of some online alternatives to Joann if anyone is interested! Definitely comment if you know of any others!

Hobby Lobby has good, cheap yarn!
Michael’s has bernat, sweet snuggles, and a bunch of fun yarns!
Walmart carries bernat as well!

Walmart is just more than I’m willing to pay, but Michael’s can be good when they’ve got their 40% off coupons! They just don’t have a huge selection.

I internationally left hobby lobby off the list though lol

:o what happened with hobby lobby? :sob:

Short answer is they stand against just about everything I believe in.

Long answer
-they’re an evangelical conservative group
-anti-lgbt views
-denied birth control insurance coverage to their employees
-multiple allegations of discrimination
-attempted to stay open during covid
-also huge scandal about them buying religious artifacts that were stolen during a war, then smuggling them into the us

I’m a Christian but I don’t care really (like I know all of those things are bad don’t get me wrong) but I love their yarn and just go in to get that, it is my favorite yarn they are the only place that sells it and I cannot get it where I live

Walmart has their own line of yarns too and I like them quite a bit. $7 for 300 grams of 6weight chenille yarn is pretty good. Cotton yarns are around $3 per 3.5 ounces. Acrylic is $2-$3 per 7 ounces.

That’s exactly why I don’t go there!

Premier has great yarn too. Their premier basix worsted weight yarn is almost identical to the Big Twist Value yarn and often on sale for cheap.
