just completed a doily my grandma started

my parents picked up her yarn last night and i started going through it this morning. i’m not done yet (there’s a lot; she spent most of her life knitting and crocheting) but i found a few projects that were very close to being done, like this doily

just wanted to share. i don’t really know what a lot of her other projects are but i’m going to try to repurpose them if i can. my mom suggested i make a memorial for her in some way. if you have any ideas as to how i could go about that i’d appreciate it; she made a lot of flat pieces and lace stuff

Do you know where i could find doily patterns? For halloween/christmas etc. I would love to make some.

looks like there are a lot of free doily patterns on ravelry (this was what i found when i searched) and i’m sure there are some on here too, just not as many to choose from yk

theres also this pattern from 1956 that i found tucked into the packaging of a skein; not sure if it’s really legible but i can try to transcribe it if it isn’t

that’s beautiful. I love the idea of framing them. If there are a lot of similar flat pieces, maybe you could sew them together to make a kind of tapestry?

You could make it into some sort of blanket by making a backing to sew it to so that it’s a little more filled in
