Just some minor suggestions

Hey, guys!

I just had some minor suggestions, like additions to posts, and some pattern tools. Let me know which ones you like!

Tension calculator.

As someone who struggles wayyyy too much just trying to figure out what my tension is, I think this would be helpful for other people who struggle with it, too.

(I have spent about 13 hours looking at online tutorials in the last few months, and I still can’t figure it out. It just doesn’t make sense!)

More Yarn and Hook Size names.

I don’t know the difference between all the yarn and hook size names (like, worsted, medium, baby, 2ply, and the weird hook lettering thing) because every other fibre artists i know in real life, uses millimetres to size their yarn and hooks. If we had a translator for these names, that would be great. (E.g. a setting where it displays the sizing method we use on top of the original sizing method)

More Post and Chat Formats.

It bugs me a little bit that the Ribblr post editing options doesn’t include all the main different writing formats. And for the tools it does have, I’m not sure how to use them or what they’re for, and I can’t find anything that helps me navigate them.

Journal Test Badge.

This one isn’t super useful, but if the tester journals of a pattern had badges showing off that these journals were from testers, it might make it more easy to find information on some little problem we’re not sure of if we can’t reach the pattern owner. Also, it would be nice to see a “This pattern was tested” badge on the patterns that have been tested, just in case we aren’t sure and don’t want to spend money on a pattern that ended up being fake. Also, it would help if the people who have bought the pattern before and didn’t want to leave a journal could leave a small note for others to see, like “this pattern works!” and it should only be able to be posted by anyone but the pattern creator. It also just literally be a single set of buttons.

That’s all I have for now! If you’re confused about anything, let me know!

I only see one flaw with the pattern tested badge some people like myself test offsite. But if there was a way to provide proof of it being tested offsite nomatter if we have a irl person test it or used discord and such I would agree.

Somehow multiple topics in one post feel a lot to me. While I am usually all for avoiding message clutter I think in this case it would be easier to take it step by step.

I definitely agree with the yarn and hook sizes! I always have trouble with that when making a pattern, because I don’t know the difference between worsted and 2ply and whatever the heck else is on there, so I typically just make my best guess and call it a day :smiling_face_with_tear:
