So, recently Iāve learned sort of how to knit, and I want to start a project.
Iāve been wanting to knit one of those frogs, but I canāt find any free patterns for them, and Iām too knew to knitting to make my own. I went on Google and looked up patterns but everything was crochet. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Thereās no free patterns for them. Iāve looked for a long time.
Youāll either have to buy the pattern, make one, or just crochet a frog instead

Yeah, THE frog isnāt free, but I say its worth every penny and I would highly recommend buying it, its not too much. This is the orginal Frog Pattern that is just the frog and the Sweater Pattern is separate, but they are still pretty cheap all things considered.
I used Claire Garlandās Frog and Toad Pattern this pattern comes with the frog, a sweater, pants, overalls, and a mushroom hat, really a bang for you buck. (If you want a discount get her Free Acorn Lantern Pattern and it has a discount code in it for the Frog and Toad Pattern).
And if you want to just take a look at her writting style, she as soooo many free patterns that you can download and read over on her ravelry shop. I think sheās a great designer!
And if you want to take a look at some of the free frog knitting patterns on ravelry hereās a link to a narrowed down search for free frog patterns (this also includes clothes for Claireās frog, but not the actual frog).

I cant seem to find any but if you click on @Scarletskies first link it will take you to ravelry. If you read through the pattern description she has a link to a youtube video on how to knit the frog in some of her pics. I tried clicking the link and for me the video comes up as unavailable but my parents have restrictions of my devices and we might be from different countries so it might work for you :)

The video is more of a supplement, it doesnāt have the entire pattern, its more like showing you how to make certain stitches, how and where to pick up sts for the arms and legs, etc.

Its almost worth learning how to knit, its soo cute. Do you think a complete beginner could do it?

Its the first pattern that I ever used to knit anything (like I hadnāt even truly casted on anything and it was quite literally my first knitted piece ever). So I think that is could be a pretty good first pattern, but Iām also the kinda of person to just dive in and hope for the best
. I had to look up a few stitches, but there are tons of youtube tutorials out there about practically any stitch. I think thats its small enough that you could get it done in a decent amount of time, as I will say that when youāre first learning knitting itās soooooo slow.
But if you are a crocheter I suggest trying to learn continental knitting (its basically the way you hold your yarn) I found it more familiar and it is definitely faster once you get the hang of it. Some of the videos I found helpful learning continental knitting:
This is my make of the frog and the orginal sweater:
The overalls where a free pattern on youtube by zinc hobbies:
You can also find a free sweater pattern on their youtube channel.

Thanks
Thats much bigger than i imagined from some of the posts you see on instagram of the knitted frogs, im assuming its like crochet and to make it smaller you just need thinner yarn and needles? My crochet frogs are quite small (still donāt have the pattern exactly as Iād like but i keep getting distracted by other things)

Oh yeah! I used a weight 4 acrylic with 3mm needles and the pattern calls for fingering weight (1) with 2mm needles. So mine is definitely bigger, but you can adjust yarn snd needle size as needed. (Basically whatever size crochet hook I would use for a yarn, I would use the same size knitting needle)

I absolutley ADORE your frog!!
But i have a question- Is continetial knitting the same as āregularā knitting, except for the way you hold your yarn? does it change anything, like the looks?
I also want to get started in knitting but i honestly have NO idea where to start
Do you have any tips?

Yeah it will look exactly the same! You basically have two styles of knitting: english and continental
(This is all from a right-hand persons pov)
Continental you will hold your yarn in your left hand and your āpickā the yarn with your right needle.
English you will hold your left and āthrowā the yarn around the right needle.
The yarn will still go around the needle in the same way, its just how quickly it gets around the needle changes. So everything will look the same, the only difference maybe your tension, I found that my tension was tighter with English, but I was also using bamboo needles, but quickly switched to metal ones as I like how the yarn glides better.
