im pretty sure I know what a dtc is, its like the st above dc and yarn over three times correct?
It’s just like u add another yo and pull through two to a treble right?
Yes! Exactly
I actually learned the double treble crochet stitch pretty early from when I learned how to crochet. It’s not used often, but I think it’s fun to use!
One of the best parts about crocheting is that you learn more skills all the time!
It never hurts to learn a new stitch for a project :)
i’ve only done it once or twice, but i think i know what it is! i think you can use it in your pattern, imo it’s pretty easy to look up how to do it
I’m personally always up for a challenge, so even if you would use a quadruple-quintiple-double-treble crochet I would try! And once you understand those stitches, it is not super complicated. (maybe the one I just came up with would be a little impossible, but you get the point I think :)
If Im not mistaken double treble is a uk term and the us version is just treble? Or is there also a us double treble?
Yes 3 yarn overs
There is also a us version that is a little taller than a treble, as it has an extra yarn over.
Oh, ok! Ty!
Technically Treble would be the next tallest in sts, then a dbl treble… but yes ![]()
i taught myself after learning the dc, and then later learned that i was right lol
yeah I know what it is!! I actually sometimes gravitate towards patterns with more confusing sts cause I want to switch it up sometimes!
I’ve heard of a double crochet and a triple crochet, but never a double triple crochet.
I wouldn’t avoid a stitch if it was one I didn’t know. You can find videos on any stitch here of Ribbkr or on YouTube.
But tbh, for me personally, I tend to avoid making arigarumis altigether. It’s just not my thing. I don’t really like making them.
The double treble I learned is much different than what else was described in the comments. I learned it as what’s pictured and it’s far more than just an extra yarn over. This is American terminology that I know so maybe it’s UK as others are saying?
Perhaps I am oversimplifying the stitch definition. This is what I mean:

Do u mean in UK terms or USA terms?
USA terms!
