:clap::star_struck: so happy for you! I tried to learn many times and it was so hard! Finally, in 2017 I just decided I was going to learn to knit. I spent my whole summer watching different videos and trying every kind of method I could to get my own method. I can knit pretty much any way now, but I still have trouble with my purls and making them the same size as my knit stitches.
I practice making Western purls (wrapping counterclockwise, leading leg in front, stitch orientation leans to the left) but my preference is for Eastern purls (clockwise, leading leg behind the needle, stitch orientation leans to the right).
It can make stockinette look a little wonky if I make Western knits and Eastern purls, so I will often just make my knits Eastern too and then the yarn just stays behind the needle for both.
It’s comfortable for me because it’s like a crochet yarn over, and only slightly more effort than a Western knit stitch.

Good luck!!! Maybe try thinking of the purl as a sorta reverse knit. Thats what i had to do and it worked

HELP :sob: don’t you get lead (or graphite, rather) on the yarn??

LMAOOO how did you even discover that :skull::sob:

Uh surprisingly no??? Idk i was also using SUPER light graphite pencils (like 6 or 5 H because sensory issues i cant draw with them) and no graphite transfer at all

school boredom + yarn = knitting with pencils because i forgot my crochet hook
