First of all, I am SO SORRY I have not posted for soooo long, my peeps with my 5 day sweater challenge specifically to you 
Anyway, as an experienced crocheter, I am going to try knitting! My first knitting project is going to be a scarf, specifically a Hufflepuff scarf, and even though I’m not going to be making anything other than rectangles anytime soon 
I am in desperate need of advice 
And I might even write a knitting pattern so please give me advice on writing knitting patterns bc I don’t even know what a knitting pattern looks like

If you don’t know how to knit yet, don’t concern yourself with how to write a knitting pattern. 
Step 1: Learn how to knit using YouTube and develop your skills first.
If you don’t know what a knitting pattern looks like you’re not going to be able to make your own patterns.
The skills you need to make a basic scarf:
Cast on, knit stitch, cast off.
