Hello.
I just bought a sewing machine. I don’t know where to start. Any ideas of things I can do?
My idea is to use old clothes that can be thrown away to turn them into tote bags, toiletry bags, book covers…
If you have any tips or tutorials that I can follow, I would appreciate it.

I would start by using a piece of fabric and just testing your stitches. Bags are really easy to make. Maybe start with a drawstring bag?? Once you get more advanced you can try turning and making circles

one thing you could do is if you crochet a bag, you could use the sewing machine to line it

I have sewn forever, but so long in between each time it’s like I’m learning new every time. We are making quilts at the senior center. I sewed squares together today. Fun!
