I’ve been wanting to try something new, so I thought — why not start a little cozy CAL together? We’ll be making a doll like the one in the photo!
If there’s enough interest, I’ll share the base body pattern, and then we’ll decide together what character the doll will become.
Some ideas could be:
inspired by pop culture or fairytales (Alice, a tiny fairy, etc.)
a classic mori-style girl with a little apron and basket
a gothic doll with lace and bows
seasonal themes (Halloween witch, snowflake, spring girl, or summer doll)
animal dolls (with ears and tails!)
The plan:
- Week 1 — crochet the body
- Week 2 — make the wig and face
- Week 3 — clothes and shoes
This won’t be a test, but more of a friendly, timeless CAL — so you can join anytime and go at your own pace.
For my doll, I’ll be using Scheepjes Catona or YarnArt Jeans (haven’t decided yet — both are perfect for amigurumi), with a 2.75 mm hook and 5 mm safety eyes. A bit of textile glue might also come in handy.

This is so cute! I’d be really interested in joining, but I think I’ll have to join a little bit later as I don’t have any skin tone yarn at the moment :( maybe when we start the project I can buy the correct color then join?
