Limiting makes

I was just scrolling through settings of each pattern and realised there was a thing called likit makes so i pressed on it and it says encourage crafters to sell this make blah blah blah but is there anything else i need to know as i still dont fully understand what it means x?

Designers have the option to limit who can sell makes of their patterns. If they do that, they would limit how much royalties they could earn from Ribblr because Ribblr pays a designer royalties whenever someone sells a make of their pattern.

As I don’t design I’m not sure how much they pay per make.

EDITED TO ADD I think I just found it

So basically its a good thing to limit makes?

I personally wouldnt put a limit on the makes. I want people to make as much as their little heart desires!

No. The reverse. If you limit makes you limit potential royalty income from Ribblr. You don’t make a whole lot, but it is still a potential source of income

If I were a designer (I have no intention of doing this) I would definitely not limit makes of my patterns

Technically you can sell what you make from patterns regardless, at least in the United States copyright only protects the pattern itself. So I could sell the make without putting the make up for sale on Ribblr and the designer gets nothing. I never sell what I make anyway

So u know when u click on makes theres a check mark box should i tick it or leave it blank?

I personally leave it blank. Given like mentioned above, if you do not use limit makes, it gives room for an additional income
