is anybody here good at math BECAUSE my math teacher dosn’t do jack squat and i literally know nothinggggg we are doing: multistep equations -3(-2x+8)=-72

I’m pretty good at math

do u need me to solve it for u?

if yes the answer is x=-8

Divide both sides by -3

Then subtract 8 from each side

Then divide each side by -2

P.EM.D.AS

Parentheses, exponents, multiplication division, addition, subtraction

And idk use ai

um itś ether x=16 or x=8

-3(-2x+8)=-72

6x-24=-72

6x=-48

x=-8

Try using BODMAS

that’s how I learnt it or search up Tiger algebra it’s a website that shows u how to solve the question step by step

Ya this is how id do it too

x=16?

Either that or -8 OHHHH YEAHHHHHHHH it’s -8

B.I.D.M.A.S

Brackets, Indices, Division and Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction

-3 x -2x + 8 x -3 =-72

6x - 24 =-72

6x = -48

x = -8

I love math! I would love to help!

-3(-2x+8)=-72

Distribute the -3 to the -2x and 8

6x-24=-72

Add 24 to both sides

6x=-48

Divide both sides by 6

x=-8

-3(-2x+8)=-72

6x-24=-72

6x=-48

x=-8

Haha if you need anything I’m here ommie and yes the answer is -8

I highly recommend Khan Academy for studying if you need any help

Practice makes better

6x-24=-72

6x=-48

X=-8

My teachers always taught me P.E.M.D.A.S (parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction). I was told to remember it as “Please excuse my dear aunt Sally”

Its x= -8

I would just think of it as isolating the X following the order of operations, or PE M/D A/S. Just cancel out each bit starting with grouping symbols, like parentheses or square roots, undo the multiplication and division in order right to left, then addition and subtraction right to left again.
