Merry Christmas from my family! Gifts are open and some already being used. Family had a good morning but there’s one moment I especially needed to share because it’s just too good.
My daughter wrapped some gifts all by herself this year. One in particular was to me and her dad. She also sorted them all out to everyone this year. One went into my pile and my dad joked with hubby, ‘what did you get a gold bar?’ Meanwhile the kid I’m pretty sure was holding back some giggles.
Time comes to open it. I’m still not able to lift a lot due to the surgery so my dad was handing me my gifts. I did not expect it to be as heavy as it was. I asked them if they got us a brick for Christmas. My parents said it wasn’t from them, it was from my daughter. She’s over there grinning ear to ear.
Let me tell you, when we unwrapped this thing… It’s literally a brick! Her school gave her a brick and she painted it. And what a great job she did. Never in a million years did I think a brick would make me smile the way it did. This kid never ceases to surprise me
That’s so sweet and adorable! (I noticed your profile picture…. It looks so cute! My pattern collection is going to explode if you keep making cute patterns! ) I hope you all have a fantastic holiday!!!
I love homemade gifts. My grandson painted a swirl of colors on that paper that comes in a roll ( remember that?) and they decorate my kitchen after mounting and framing them.
