Hey guys! I recently started making micro crochet. I kind of want to sell them in these little jars, but i feel like if i price them accordingly nobody will buy them. Thing is they take like hours each but they are so small people might think its a scam. Any ideas on how i can sell these without large issues?
I donāt think I will be much help cause Iāve never sold anything before, but those are adorable!!!
Thanks!!
I would say try selling them for the fair price and see what happens! Theyāre adorable btw <33
Those are sooo cute! Honestly 100% understand that struggle. Little ideas that may make the customer feel like the price point is ābetterā (bc lets face it- not everyone knows or appreciates the time it takes to do it), id recommend āspicingā up the jars. Even if its just with a little ribbon or small scenery. It could be cute to add a tiny chain to them with a little hook/clasp, and add a loop to the top of the jar inside and attach the lil critters to it. Just to make them look like theyre floating lol, but also an option to remove it and what not.
Sorry for the long message! Im amazed by your skills and even if you dont do anything more, there are others, like myself, who knows how difficult and amazing your skills are and there is a market for them regardless <3
Thanks, a little decorating never hurt noone lol
This is one of the reasons I donāt do micro crochet/ sell anything that uses under weight 4 yarn. Definitely donāt underprice yourself.
Maybe try making a sign that explains what micro crochet is, and how long it takes?
Thats a good idea too! Thanks!
Right? Haha
Wow!! Ive just started making micros those are soooo cute, id porb bye them for 5 or 7
They are so cute! Iām not very good with selling and things like that (and Iām a chunky yarn girl!) but I think prise them with keeping in mind how long it took you and how cute they are and if ppl think that is overpriced then thatās on them bc they donāt know how long it takes and how hard it is to make something like that.
I do micro crochet myself, they take forever! I would have a base price for every hour. So like 5 per hour. So if it takes 3 hours then itād be 15 bucks then the price of materials :3 for me thatād be around 20 bucks each
You do incredible work
Those are SO CUTE!!! Iām not coordinated enough work with such small yarn LOL , but those must be so difficult! Maybe make a sign explaining the prices?
What kind of thread do use for those?
This is how i would sell it,
Cost of supplise Ć hours spent.
This can make these items pretty priceyā¦
If that dose not work, then my solutipn is:
Hours spent Ć number of supplies.
This can make these items a bit cheapā¦
But! Have no fear! If you subtract the price of the second strategy from the price of the first strategy, you will get an overall price.
I HOPE THIS WORKS! If this dose possibly work, I would love some feed back!
omg if you put eye screws in the cork they could be necklaces!!! People pay way more for necklaces than little trinkets in my experience.
Iād gladly spend like 30-35 dollars if it was a necklace
True!! Especially if that idea was combined with the one above about making them float in the jar. That would be so cute
Something Iāve considered trying is adding some kind of labeling on my tags that makes it clear that each piece is 100% handmade and unique. Maybe even calling it āheirloom quality.ā Another idea Iāve heard of is people putting the time it took to make on their tags. I dunno what works or not, just some ideas. Thereās some kind of psychology to how customers will perceive an identical item differently just due to labeling/marketing differences⦠Iām still working on figuring that out for myself.
I think they are soo cute maybe make little assortments like fruit and animal or something with like two in each jar. It will be a lot of work but they are worth buying in my opinion but im no expert.
