More doodle mode issues

Today, I tried doodle mode again. This time it is a blank screen.

Anyone else work on a Chromebook? This is my view. Everything is up to date on it. Using Google Chrome. On the website.

I also tried my Android S20 phone:

Hi,
Thanks for your report. I would need some more info:
On the Chromebook:

  • Does that happens on every page? For example, if you click arrow to another page (you can leave doodle-more on while flipping pages)
  • If you try and draw on it → does it show the doodling?
  • Can you give me a pattern you were working on with this view, so I could check the doodles created?
    Thanks in advance,

I tried 2 patterns today. One is in testing and one is mine. My flag has doodles on it. Moving the boxes out of the way to see the pattern makes them disappear. But no white out.

Trying to reproduce the white out in another pattern that is not in testing. If you need the link to the testing pattern I can send it in a dm. It’s the Jesse Letodoll pattern.

I tried another pattern in testing. Pippa, Letodolls. Everything seemed fine until I texted onto it that “now it works ???” Then while moving the color boxes they disappeared again. I went back in and they were back, but … no text box.

Back to the testing pattern. It seemed fine until I clicked on the menu box. I think I clicked on the PDF line when it turned to a white screen.
I tried to doodle on the white out.
See the text box in the first picture? I was able to guess where the text box was and typed in it. Nothing showed up though, except red squiggles for a misspelled word. Ha.
On the next picture, there is a tiny sad face in the top left corner.
The tools and color boxes did not disappear in this pattern.

Hi,
Thanks, as always, for a very thorough reply.
It seems to us that this is a memory limit related issue, as we’ve tested it on a PC with no issues.
The existing doodle may be “heavy” on memory - especially for long patterns.
Possible solutions for now:

  1. Try and close other applications on your Chromebook - hope that will free enough memory.
  2. Work on a PC when testing/designing long patterns.

(We’re working on an alternative “notes for patterns” :face_with_hand_over_mouth:)
Best,

I don’t have a PC to work on. :(
But I do have a lot of tabs open. I will shut them and try again.
The white screen appeared on my Android Galaxy S20 phone also though.

Can we assume the white background on the S20 is happening for testing of a long pattern?

  1. Can you try it on a shorter pattern and see if that works fine?
  2. If it’s not too much to ask: can you send us a video recording of the S20 showing the flow of what you’re describing. This is much better than images.
    Thx,

It is a long pattern. I will try what you suggested. I just removed a lot of unused apps. Closed tabs. And restarted. Still went white when I arrowed over to the pattern page. Arrows back to materials etc did not make the white go away. Will test the phone later today. Thank you so much for trying to help me.

I did send some videos through DM. Let me know if they help or you need more or different.

Did you try it on a pattern in testing? Just curious. My white screens seem to be there.

Question: which way do you use the doodle tools?

  1. Drawing using the pen/brush/spray
  2. Writing text/comments using the textbox tool
  3. Other.
    Thanks so much,

I do both the drawing with the pen and text. Depending on how much there is to write.
