Motivation during the Holiday season

Hey guys! For those of you who are making christmas gifts/are celebrating the holidays… how do you guys stay motivated during the holiday season to finish these gifts or your projects? I have so many gifts left to finish but I can’t find the motivation to finish them… any help is appreciated!

Like loaf said, either projects on the side that you feel really motivated about, or take a break for like a day and come back to it

The burnout is so real… I’m maybe 5 out of 20 done… I tried making a side project (a handbag) and it was fine and fun but then I have to come back to these and I now I do.

I’m powering through, may have 0 motivation, but I’d rather die than not finish these orders

I understand that. I try and focus on who I am making the gift for and try and individualize it as I make it for them. Color of safety eyes, color of yarns used … trying to make it unique especially for them and it keeps me from being bored, lol. I just finished this little open mouth dragon, by Ami Amour, for a friend’s little boy on my gift list.

We got this guys. Push through the pains, the no motivation, and the wanting to give up. Im working on gifts as we speak and I am in ever lasting pain. I will never make gifts for everybody again.

normally its not this bad for me, I’ve made gifts before, just not in mass. I’m making a bag, an egg apron, a bunch of cozy thingies for drinks, coasters, etc

the egg apron has in process for ~2 weeks and its not even halfway done

Taking a small break (a few hour or a whole day) is sometimes what’s best for you. I play video games or read on some days I just don’t feel like doing anymore. I also sometimes do puzzles, color, or just relax. I understand the pain. I have a bad wrist, and some days have dark thoughts, but I believe you can get through this. Rewarding yourself for finishing something can also motivate you to do more. It can be as simple as a small sweet you don’t have often, a nap, buying something you want, or really anything.
