Ik 80% of the time I can’t find it and have this giant clump of tangled yarn that immediately gets tangled with other yarns when I throw it into the abandoned yarn pile:sob::sob:

If it’s acrylic, it goes into the scrap pile, where I purge my rage snipping it with very sharp scissors into teeny bits!!
If it’s expensive yarn, well, yeah, I’ve got to unravel it.

I only pull from the middle if I’m working on something big because otherwise I’m not willing to birth a yarn baby . I have learned a few tricks for getting the center pull, but they’re not 100% - One is to see if they tucked in the outside end, in which case you search for the center pull from the opposite side of the way they tucked the outside end. The other is that I will put my fingers in both ends and separate out the center until it feels like I can feel the center pull or at least a small enough chunk and then I’ll pull it out. Regardless, it doesn’t seem to matter whether I pull from the outside or the inside, I end up with tangled yarn at some point in the skein :sob:
