Starting a little (so far) crochet class at the local senior center. Got the cook and her daughter tomorrow. I think it will grow and we need a way to advertise it. So, this is where you come in. I want something cool
(not hooker, or stitch and bitch, related, sorry).
“Hooked” or “hooks” maybe. It can be more like “creative” instead of just crochet, like “hobbies”. “busy hands”. “a stitch in time” … That kind of stuff. Got any ideas?
combining busy hands and hooks, busy hooks?
Also, this is a small town. Village even. We are pretty new here so we don’t know people. Although they all know each other … Nevermind, not really helpful.
And, we will bring our karaoke machine. My Jerry will entertain us. I might be able to get donations for the center if I threaten to sing. Hahahaha
stitching to the oldies, stitch’n’sing, singin’ in the chains, hooked on the hits
will the music be part of every meeting?
I might not be the best person for this though… My husband had to talk me out of naming my hair salon McSwiggin’s Pub
Pretty sure if I am there, he will be too. But if I’m not, he wouldn’t either.
maybe more of a get together, like some people play cards too … Although they might prefer to keep cards separate from karaoke
what you want is a social club
that is more where it was going … maybe back to just the crochet class
Distraction and Whimsy Social Club
learnin’ yarnin’
yarn it!
Yarn survivalists
yarners anonymous (I am pretty addicted. ha)
Going out to play in the sprinklers with g-babies. Will check in later.
I love “yarn survivalists” looks like the perfect title
Our church group calls it “In Stitches” if that helps
Our old knitting group was called Fiddlesticks, that was my pick.
I;m not the best at this sort of thing but what about ‘‘Counting stitches’’ or ‘‘Steady hooks’’ like steady hands
We have a friend who is preparing, like a survivalist . Jerry told me at least we won’t be cold. haha. I have a lot of yarn. A lot! So yeah, it might be perfect.
Ooh, I just thought of “helping hands.” or “helpful hands”. I’d really love to get more people started crocheting. Maybe more “useful hands”,
Don’t count yourself short. You had some wonderful suggestions. Thanks
Update. First day was fun. Got to work with two people. One got the slip knot, and chaining down well already, so I got her working back down the chain with sc. Exciting. Another sweetie I wasn’t planning on being there is left handed so that threw me a bit. Thankful for youtube videos on left handed crochet basics. She got the slip knot down, but then had to go back to work. (cooking for us). So fun. May have more joining in tomorrow. Jerry’s singing was a hit, as expected.
