New Crochet hook😶😳

So my grandma just dropped by and gave me some yarn and crochet hooks :stuck_out_tongue: But… just LOOK at the smallest one-

Thats it against my pointer finger!!-

And next to a 4.5…
Like… the camera couldnt even focus on the hook
Its impossibly small. And theres no size, it just says 11 Boys (or Boye) 11. What am i gonna do with it :joy:

It is for crocheting with thread. Thread can come pretty thin. The thinnest thread is used by lacemaking

i have one like that from my gma as well! like some others have said it’s really good for lacework :3 or just really tiny crochet things

i haven’t tried amigurumi… but i did make this w/ mine bc the full grid is 150x150 and i didn’t want it to be huge lol (but i’ve decided to knit it instead)

Boye 11 is 1.10 mm. I know because I have a 20-something piece set.

I personally don’t think I will ever use it, because my wrist starts hurting when doing delicate stuff and all of the focus I would have to use for that due to a fall I had when I went to school because I was at the front of the line for the bus and I fell on the first step and stopped myself with my wrist, meanwhile holding my instrument in my other hand and causing a really hard hit to one hand. I actually had pain for weeks, but I still had to write stuff and play the violin at school. It sucked because it’s my right/dominant hand. I got even smaller hooks from the boye set, smallest being size 14, or 0.75 mm, which is smaller than the tips of some of the needles I use.

She does have a lot of lace stuff made by her mom (so my great-grandma) in her house so that’s prolly why she has it :woman_shrugging:
