Has anybody ever seen this on their patterns? This is the first time I have ever seen this.
Ive seen it a few times on free patterns! Im not sure if jts part of it or not, but i assume it might be for the beta testing of monetizing free patterns for pattern makers!
I think itâs the promotional stuff on the free patterns⌠Ribblr has to pay the bills somehow
Hey! Check this out for more information:
Haha that would make sense!
I was just searching through this topic looking for people talking about this! Honestly, I hate it. I love the set up of ribblr, but this makes me want to go back to my old habit of screenshotting my patterns and stitching them together so I donât have interruptions. While I do hate the ads, I think moving them out of the actual pattern would help. Like maybe in-between posts in the social section or between the different lists on the front page, but in the pattern itself just feels weird
Anyways, glad to see it wasnât just me seeing it!
Edit: as I read more about this, itâs good to know that this is the choice of the maker. I still think the ads IN the patterns are intrusive, especially because theyâre colorful and especially bad on dark mode, but ads could also be on the store page of the maker, in the description of a pattern, and one or two ads at the top and bottom wouldnât be nearly as bad.
I do like that ribblr is trying to help their creators, Iâm just hoping these opinions can be helpful and as this is in beta, I really really hope itâll be better in the main release
The ads are to monetize the free patterns since ribblr does not get paid for those like they do when you pay for a pattern⌠Therefore, itâs the free patterns that get the ads. Paid ones do not, as far as I know. If I had to see ads after paying for my patterns and paying fees for selling patterns, I would not be here.
Other sites make you pay a monthly subscription for the tools that ribblr letâs us use without it.
The ads have to be visible otherwise the companies would complain that Ribblr is stuffing them to the side/only select pages, ya know? In the end they are paying to be advertised on here. They want views and they want clicks.
