New Question

yeah I agree, I have put out some really cool patterns that took me a long time to design (not on ribblr lol, I only put my small stuff on ribblr) and it got like 13 comments. it annoys me really bad, but I try to stay positive and keep pushing for those 13 people lol

So true! My gosh! I have made some amazing friends, but ugh, lol. Trying to convert patterns here has also been hard, lol, as all mine are Canva PDFs, lol.

I do! Most of mine are pretty simple, like the one I have in testing here right now (Mƶbius strip (loop)) and things that never sell, like my Fungi Flingerz, a mushroom themed soft dodgeball game. I’m currently working on a new pattern that is an actual plushie, though. But it’s super long, and I don’t know how I’d even make it work here. It’s already 18 pages long on Canva.

if you ever release a test pattern for any of them, i am more than willing to test for you! (even if we do it through canva lol)

When inexperienced crocheters, who are clearly still learning the craft, put out pattern tests and patterns for ā€˜unidentifiable objects’, and try to sell them. I want to encourage new makers to continue to learn the craft and get better, before they try pattern making and opening a shop. They need to be able to actually crochet the basics first and be competent at it.

When you advise a designer there is a serious issue with their pattern and they don’t do anything to remedy it, so you can complete the pattern test. I am then left to work out how to fix the error and ā€œmake it workā€ as best I can, so I can complete the pattern test, so that I’m not penalized for not completing the test. :face_with_symbols_on_mouth: Then they have the nerve to sell their pattern with all the problems still present.

I do have one up for my Mobius currently and need one more tester if you’re willing. And my other will be up on Insta by the end of the month.

My current crochet ick is fur yarn! It’s worse then black yarn. I just finished a wolf with fur yarn while cute I had so many frogging moments so yeah no…. :grimacing::sweat_smile:

Ick for being a tester is when designers who won’t communicate in their chat and won’t fix their typos.
For being a designer when testers leave it to the last moment and then ask for an extension. It would be appreciated if testers managed their time more wisely.

As a tester

No testing gc

No response for ages with only pms to talk to the designer halting my progress making it impossible - almost impossible to complete by deadline

Not having my completed test with journal and feedback marked complete by the designer when the work is finished

ooo, okay! we could start a dm channel so we aren’t spamming people on here anymore lmao

tester ick is when the tester ghosts or copies your pattern
