Hi!
I’m writing some OC lore for my character (Keine) and I really want to write it well. does anyone have any tips on how to write good lore?

what I have so far planning wise (:

  • Born in 1917
  • 5’9
  • 23
  • Zombie
  • German/dutch
  • Trans
  • Born in Heede, germany
  • Christian
  • Fears being alone
  • Deadname is Anika
  • Bad relationship w/ both bio parents
  • In relationship with Akim (russian boy)
  • Adopts 5yr old girl (Lizzie)
  • Afraid of becoming his parents

Must have

  • begin with end in mind (who are they and why)
  • Imaginary therapy session with him
  • What is his current misbelief? (does not have to be from childhood)
  • Internal conflicts??
  • What does he think will make him happy?

  • Written in 1st & 3rd POV (good omens inspired, 3rd person will be this, first person will be this)

my advice for writing good lore is really knowing your character first. find some sort of ‘questions to flesh out your character’ things online. once you know their flaws you can figure out conflicts those may cause. he was also alive during the great depression, so you could bring that into play.

edit: the great depression began in around 1929

I have all that in my head, probably a good idea to write it out lol

  • Conflicting duties and responsibilities, grappling with and aspect of mental health

  • He has what makes him happy after death (good relationships with people he cares for, boundaries, and being able to live somewhat freely), before death he thinks that being isolated, having lots of friends (they don’t necessarily have to care abt him) , and money will make him happy.

  • He was always on the skinnier side growing up due to lack of food, and he is afraid to ask for anything from people because he feels like he is going to be shut down and annoy the person
