i know i normally don’t post here, but this is a weird dream i had back in September that i wrote down when i woke up. i apologize if it doesn’t make any sense and I’ll try to explain in the comments
It was like a game show, but like a survivor type of game show. There were many contestants running through a series of challenges, but they weren’t traditional. By the time they got to the 2nd to last challenge everyone was exhausted. They were in a hair salon and had to get a simple haircut. The first guy and girl (fairly young about 10-12 years old) trim like the bare minimum off and wait for 2 more people to be done to move on to the last stage. The last 2 people are brothers (like 8 and 6) who are like their enemies. The oldest gets an easy cut, but the youngest gets like a mullet, which delays them going to the final challenge which stresses everyone out. They finally make it to the final room (they’re adults now, no timeskip) and are told by the orchestrater of the challenge that they have as much time as they want to put whatever they find in the room into their already sort of filled drawstring backpacks or on their person. They will bring whatever they kept with them to the final rooms to see who lasts the longest. The main guy is the only perspective i got on this part. He packed one pair of clothes, a little food, 2 kitchen knives (1 was a bread knife), and few hygiene products. Eventually it cuts to him in his room (same layout as the master bedroom in my house) and he looks pretty disheveled. The other 3 contestants are in other rooms in the house with the youngest brother in the room across the hall. Days go by and the oldest brother passes away (I think by electrocution), leaving 3 contestants. Every day the main guy dies through the drawers in the room for any extra supplies. He winds up shoving cotton candy and feathers (or fabric) into his ears and it gets very compacted in his ears. The other contestants did something similar. Eventually the lady who made all of the challenges also passes away, and the contestants know this. But they also know the last one still gets the prize money (unspecified amount). The girl comes in and picks a fight with the boy, they both get super worked up. The girls runs away screaming and jumps into the younger brother’s door and just explodes (no flashes but she literally just explodes into a bunch of cubes). The guy, now insane, has transformed into a human with hummingbird wings for arms and hummingbird head. (Not important but they are light pink) With him flailing around, a knife he had strapped to his chest kills him, leaving only the younger brother left. He wins, but doesn’t last very long after to enjoy his winnings.
