Oval question

When I crochet along the back loops of the chain to make an oval I get these holes all the way down the starting chain. Is this supposed to happen?

yes, that’s perfectly normal! it’s just because the chains are slightly stretched because you’re crocheting on both sides. as you continue to crochet it’ll become less noticeable

Yep, to be expected!
I haven’t tried this , but might be helpful for closing up those “holes” .

Yeh that happens to me as well

Yes! Sometimes to hide it better, when I weave my ends in I’ll weave it through the gaps to close them a little.

Cool tip. You could use an extra piece of matching yarn, since you didn’t leave the tail. I’ve taken a needle and weaved through a few after the fact. But I like the ss on the wrong side.

I wonder … …
I usually work on the back bumps of the chain first. Just what I do. So, when you work the other side you would still have two left. What if you just used one that time. Make sense?
