Oversaturated photos

Hi! Is anyone else having trouble with Ribblr changing the colors in the photos you use on patterns? It’s fine sometimes (and with certain colors), but there are times when my photos look way too saturated and they also kind of lose their texture, which makes them look strange. Does anyone know if there’s a way to fix that?

I’ve noticed this as well, not sure how to fix it though

This happens to me too. I also have a terrible camera tho, so I don’t know how much is Ribblr

Yeah I’ve noticed that, not sure why.

Hi,
Can you upload an example? Not sure what you mean.
Note that on every upload, you have a phase in which an image editor is opened for you to ā€œplayā€ with any filter you may need.

Sure! So far I’ve mainly faced that problem with pictures that have red in them, like the one below:

This is the original picture (except it’s a bit dulled. I think posts tend to dull photos slightly)

It seems fine on posts/topics, so I’m only having that problem on patterns I post, whether it’s progress or cover pictures. I’ve tried editing some of my photos beforehand and making them duller or darker to offset the change when it uploads, but I can’t really do anything for some of the pictures. I’ve also tried using the image editor to see if that helps, but it doesn’t seem to. Even when I don’t edit photos, it still has the same result. It’ll show me how it looks, and it seems fine. But once I click ā€œsaveā€ and the picture uploads, it looks different.

Just wondering if there’s something I can do to fix it!

Sorry for the trouble, and thank you!

Yeah. It completely changed the color of my ogre, and a few other projects colors were messed up, even though I delicately plan what to use. This is really upsetting sometimes

Thx. What’s that pattern’s name and line (so we could look into that specific image)
We’re trying to figure out if that’s a compression issue, where you load a huge image and the auto-compress changes it a bit.
Also note, I suppose you know, that colors on your browser might might look a little different than the photo viewer you have.
Many thanks,

It’s an unreleased pattern that I’m currently working on. But I managed to edit the original photos again and make it so that they still retain their texture and are pretty much the right color after they’re uploaded, so it worked out.
Yup!

Hi,
Can you share an example from your patterns (i.e pattern’s name). It will help us a lot investigating. Any pattern’s cover image will do.
Thx,
