painting crocheted things

So I am like a failed Sewer and I was doing a pattern with a sew on face. Would It be bad if I painted it with acrylic paint?

I mean it’s always worth a shot! But I feel like it would come out a little funky because of the texture of the yarn and the paint would probably crack and chip a lot if you use acrylic. Fabric paint would be best because it’s flexible.

You could also consider using felt and gluing it on if you don’t want to sew

I don’t know if you have ever tried Needle Felting, but I’ve also seen people use that technique for faces too!

Yea of course! I also found a few videos on YouTube about painting on crochet. In this one video she uses acrylic paint markers so maybe it does work! I mean, I’ve never tried it before so I’m just assuming.

If I were you, I would crochet a test swatch and see how it goes on and how it looks and acts when it dries.

I tryed painting blush on and it works but I used red blush on a white dino… it looks like a murder scene
