As recommended, rather than making a chatroom that only allows 10 people, do a thread instead. So anything kid related you want to discuss with others can go here!
I’ll start. My 6yo (7 on monday omgggg) lost her 6th tooth today. The struggle? She has no idea where. Her and her dad went out shopping so I could have some alone time and partway through walmart, suddenly she has no tooth. Eep! So of course, she’s freaking out thinking the tooth fairy won’t come.
I made a bag to hang outside her door so the tooth fairy can find her tooth easy and she can find the money, so she left a note inside explaining what happened and asked the tooth fairy to please find her tooth and still give her a prize. She even spelled everything correctly. Such a proud mom moment.
Of course that was only after she had a freakout moment earlier that day where she told us she wanted to be left alone cause we wouldn’t give her tablet time (we were literally headed out the door to dance class). Oh and she laid claim to my most recent project lol. So proud moment and not so great moment but at least I got some alone time to crochet while they were gone!

Thats happened so to everyone of my boys where they lost a tooth and really lost it. Id have them write a letter as you did. Spelling was always important. But the hanging it over the door in a bag!!! Genius!!! We did under the pillow i learned fast with my first son how hard it was to find it, we started putting them in zip locks.
Now my youngest is 10. Went to the dentists had 4 baby teeth removed since his adult teeth were coming in at a slant. Those 4 teeth are still chilling in the living room cause he learned at school theres no tooth fairy or santa ect..
Honesty miss the days of all the excitement and magic.

Yeah I did the bag when the tooth fairy forgot one time
this way it’s obvious. Crocheted pink bag on the door handle is hard to miss lol

I love the bag/ note idea! I’ll have to remember that once my little ones get there.
Heres my struggles/cuteness as of late. We just got two kittens, sisters and we couldnt bear to part them. Works out well anyways one for each kid. Problem is the youngest wants to grab them by the neck to hold them
or just give them relentless kisses. The oldest likes to trap them in her bookshelf and give them treats. Super duper cute, but maybe not the best for the kittens

Oh gosh. Yeah, I can see that being a problem for the kittens. I had a friend who had to monitor her kids time with her cats for a similar reason. couldn’t leave them in the room together but they were older and could also run away :/ Hopefully the kiddos learn their animal manners soon! Mine stepped on our pups a few times when learning to walk so they learned to steer clear of her quickly haha

We wanted a girl as well and were happy she was. I don’t know if I could’ve dealt with a boy. Mine already gets hurt enough… They seem to get hurt every second of every day and that would have me always panicking

My first barely got hurt my middle has broke so many bones and has scars on his face/body from being crazy. The youngest recently broke his toe at sports camp.
Hardest part i think is the affording all this sports stuff. Cause their all active in sports.

I was never a sports kid. But my kiddo? Tried soccer (hated it after 1 day), did swim for years and only recently pulled her becuase she wanted to add on more dance classes. Currently we’re at 2 a week (the recitals themselves are hundreds just in the outfits!!! not to mention we have to pay to watch!). Did gymnastics but she has 0 core strength so that failed miserably. Taekwondo for a while… She’s run the gambit haha. But dance def seems to be her thing. Which hurts the wallet but we do what we gotta do for the kiddos

Since their in the process of litter training i close them away with their litter box every now and then. Gives them a break from the kids too
i figured getting kittens would be best rather than an adult cat at least, theyll be used to the shenanigans growin up together lol. Still best to learn pet manners though!
Two girls, 1 and 4!
I want to get my oldest into dance so bad! I think she’d love it too. That constant price tag holds us back a bit
i did it as a kid too and i know even back then it was pricey.

Sad thing is they can def keep charging that much cause they know there are parents willing to pay, plus those that will find ways just to make the kids happy. I didn’t get photos this last round cause it was over 50 for a couple shots on a white background in her outfit… And the last set I did buy, they were AWFUL. but people buy the huge packages all the time.
(I should add the dance studio is great, they put on amazing shows and they’re great with the kids, but they def try to money grab like making us pay to brand their leos with the studio logo or buy directly from them)

For sure! Worth every penny if its something you can do, those memories for them are priceless anyways
I hope they get the photo thing sorted better though, at least a nice set background rather than plain white. Adds to those memories a bit having nice pictures.

The one set we did buy had a nice christmas background. not sure why they didn’t do something again but her face… omg her face. how they didn’t see that and say ‘we should do another few’ I have no idea cause she looks constipated lmao

My eldest accidentally swallowed her first tooth while eating cereal
she was freaked out and sad but she made sure to keep track of the second tooth once it became loose so it wouldn’t happen again

Ok so tip I’ve come up with that helps so much.
These kids always have birthdays to go to it seems. Mine doesn’t get invited to many but when she does, I usually crochet the gift. I now have a bag of crochet items my daughter didn’t want (shocking, I know but most are dupes of things I already made her or not in her fav colors) that she can go through and pick something for a bday party gift. Saves me from last minute rush to get a project done!
