Hello all! My name is Meisha, and I am a patternā¦collector.
That is to say, I seem to hoard patterns like a dragon with treasures, but donāt actually use them. I really want to change this, however, and so I thought a great way to work through my pattern stash aka make way for new patterns would be to do an accountability thread with periodic check-ins, at least once a week, but hopefully more! Iām also hoping it will help me get a little more organized with my yarn stash, my pattern boards, and archiving things that are no longer of interest to me.
Last time I did this type of āchallengeā as a yarn destash event with the community it was super fun and helpful, so I hope to replicate that energy here! I donāt know if anyone else is like me in this regard, but please consider this an open invitation to any other pattern collectors (or simply, interested parties) to join in and share their efforts, as well! This is super casual and you can share whenever works for you! No one is required to do this next part if they tag along, but Iām also going to try my best to not buy new patterns until Iāve worked through at least five I already own. Iāll personally be focusing on my ribblr pattern library because Iāve accrued the most patterns here.
I have been mulling over a couple options in my head as to how to proceed with pattern selection for this pattern pruning event, but ultimately I think Iām going to just go chronologically, oldest to newest, because that seems easiest and perhaps it will showcase some older patterns to our newer Ribblr users in the process. I may skip around as needed due to yarn requirements, but will try to move mostly in a linear fashion through my patterns. If enough people are interested in joining and decide it would be fun to have more guided weekly prompts, Iām open to making some, as well!
Thanks for reading my rambles - hope some of you will participate, and if not, I hope you donāt mind me sharing my pattern library & completed projects here to keep me motivated and on task!
Almost forgot my first anticipated project is this little poppable mushroom frog pattern:
