Payment methods

So, I’m currently in the process of turning my account into my business account, which of course requires stripe.
The problem is, I can’t currently set up an account with stripe (not related to ribblr) so I was wondering if there’s any way Ribblr could allow being paid through other methods?
I know there’s a whole thing with the fees and other issues, but I think it would be really helpful.
I use square for everything else business related, so I would love to be able to use it here!
Otherwise, I’m not sure how else sell my makes because I’m unable to use stripe.
Thanks in advance for any consideration!

I agree!! I dislike using stripe because it requires so much verification and even after I gave everything such as my ssn and identification, it asks me to re approve it and it’s just a pain. I made all my patterns free just because I didn’t want to go through the hassle of it again since it stopped working for me for some reason. I’d love to see other options like PayPal or even Zelle since it goes directly to your bank account.

Pretty sure Ribblr is working on other options. I remember reading something lately. Oops. What I just read is you would still need Stripe to get your money. :(

Yeah I saw that too because I was double checking to make sure this wasn’t already an open suggestion lol. Unfortunate that it’s only for paying and not being paid ://

I would also love other payment methods. I personally would love PayPal or something like that that’s a little more user friendly

That’s pretty much my problem too. I had a stripe account and it worked fine, but I switched banks recently and now it’s refusing to let me log into my account or add the new bank account to it because the bank switch got flagged and it’s not letting me fix it. I really just don’t feel like doing all the legal stuff or figuring out how to make a new account with the same name and ssn (as far as I know it’s not gonna let me do that)

Thanks for sharing. That’s on our radar, but (although it may not seem like that) it’s a very lengthy and complex task.

Stripe’s verification process, whilst it can be tedious, is following regulations so in reality all payment providers we add should be similar, unless you already have an account with them.

We’ll keep you posted

This is probably dumb and wouldn’t work, but is there any way for someone to just add money to a Visa card or something similar? Kinda like when you go to arcades these days, and they charge tickets directly onto the card??

I’m on another site that only uses PayPal and there is still the same amount of complaints about it as there are here about Stripe

Any payment interface would still have to follow all banking laws so for some cases no payment provider would process it

I understand that! Obviously they have to be strict about their rules and guidelines!
My problem is specifically with stripe due to their flag of my account.

It is quite possible that PayPal would also flag it.

Don’t know for sure if they would or not. It is not a problem unique to Stripe

I have one credit card that won’t allow me to purchase things from a Canadian vendor because they consider Canada a large source of fraud. I found this out at a craft show years ago. After discussing it with the credit card bank they opted to allow the charge but I had to write the other Canadian vendor a check

I thought it would because I’ve had a lot of issues with PayPal before, but surprisingly no!
The bank switch went over fine with square, Venmo, and PayPal.
Stripe is the only one that flagged it.
It’s interesting that they consider Canada to be a large source of fraud.
I’ve never had that issue with my cards when there before!

There were some Canadian vendors who were selling their yarns, kits, needles etc at the craft show I attended here locally here in California. Not sure why my credit union decided they were potentially fraudulent
