Do you have a journal? Or a diary? I have a nature journal where I note different plants and animals and all infos about them. I also write down the thoughts I got while being out in the woods, or what I saw there and experienced. Writing down the stuff in my head is keeping me sane, how about you? 
But because I tend to loose my pens in my bag I made this pen holder that doubles as book mark. I just uploaded the free pattern - maybe you could need this too!
