Pls remove the assign testers feature!

Hewo everyone!!!
This wa originally @HellloooBlue s idea but i am trying to spread it.
I already made a post about this in the testing zone as well.
Its rlly annoying when you go to your testing tab and see a bunch of patterns there you never applied to test.
Its also annoying when you dont have the time to test them and the only way you can remove yourself gives you a negative outlook.
Sometimes you even complete the test and let the person who owns the pattern know but they wont gift you the pattern and then you get lots of notifications telling you that you havent completed the test but you already have and theres nothing you can do about it.
For those of you who dont know what this is and have never had this happen to you; i am glad for you but we still need to spread awareness.
This can happen at ANYTIME.
The reason i am putting this in the suggestions space is because i want to suggest these few features to leadership.
1: Pls remove the assign testers button when you are given the option to either post a tester call, message testers, or assign testers
2: If you do not remove this, pls make a way for us to abort patterns we havent applied to without it negatively impacting us
3: Or maybe Ribblr could add a ‘consent’ feature where when ppl assign you to a pattern you can either say yes on no and based on your feedback you can test the pattern or not and it wont affect ur karma!
I hope everyone agrees with me that this is not ok and we need to stop this from continuing to happen.
If ppl have asked to be assigned to your patterns you could still assign them but pls dont just assign random ppl bc we may not have time.
If you are doing this i am not trying to call you out but to spread awareness and pls refrain from continuing to do this if you are!
Tysm everyone and happy crafting! -Yani

I agree with this, and people should stop adding users without asking. but instead of removing the feature completely, maybe Ribblr could add a “consent” feature where before you add a tester manually, the user could agree to testing. So you could get a little pop up like this “@fillerusername wants to add you as a tester for SoandSoPattern, would you like to become a tester?” The options could be “yes” or “no”.
yknow?

I feel like if you remove the whole feature, that could mess up things with assigning testers manually with instagram ect.

@ribblr I think something similar to this would be beneficial maybe.. its a common subject right now.

I like that too, because I do like the idea of being able to add people like that (such as if you have a friend who told you in person that they would like to test. Rather than having them go through the whole application process if you already know you’re going to accept them) but the recipient should be allowed to choose if they agree to this test.

I responded to the first post, the short version is keep track of the designers names and blocking them if they do twice.
1st time could’ve been a “mistake” 2nd time I feel it’s deliberate and they shouldn’t be able to continue to negatively impact a users testing chances.

The only way to assign you to a test without you applying is to assign you to test all patterns. Is that what you are referring to?

Ive never had anything like this happen, but I understand how frustrating and annoying it would be! I like this idea though (like the consent thing.)

Yes, there have been people assigning us without us applying or asking to test.

We think there should be a piece on the tester’s side where they can accept the test, that way if they didn’t request to join it, saying now wouldn’t negatively impact their percentages.

What @HellloooBlue said is what i meant.

It’s probably some bug or something, cause creators can’t add testers who haven’t applied. There isn’t such option in my testing tab.
