Pointy Heads with Blanket Yarn

I know a lot of people have come up with a lot of solutions for this issue but I can’t remember any of them at the moment. How do you prevent the pointy amigurumi heads when using blanket yarn?

One person reccomended the following: If your pattern reads r1: 6 sc in a mr. r2: Inc around. (12) r3: (sc, inc) around. Instead of doing that, skip the first round and do the following: r1: 12 sc in a mr. r2: (sc, inc) around.
I have never tryed it.

I’ll give it a try, thank you!

You can also try just pushing and pulling at the yarn, but mainly, when it’s time to stuff, stuff the sides also, so it’s even

I have found if I have a pointy head once I stuff it then you can put some pressure on the head and move it around in your palm or a flat surface then it goes away

something that helps me is when i make a magic ring, i don’t keep it all the way open when i work into it.

so, i’ll make my ring, 1sc, and then i’ll try to close it a bit before i do the other 5sc. it can be a lil finicky, but for some reason it works for me??? maybe because there’s not as much of a gap to cinch together.

Yeah I do that too, it’s so much easier to close since the friction of all of the stitches isn’t there at the start. Also, if a small gap is still left it’s usually small enough to sew shut cleanly
