Hi all, I’m working on a fruit basket bundle and need your help deciding what to include and how to go about testing! Please answer one or both questions below.
Thanks,
suettle (rhymes with noodle)
Should I include the banana and/or grapes in this bundle in addition to pear, lemon, orange, and apple?
Banana
Grapes
Both
Neither
Idc I just like answering poll questions

When testing for patterns that will be bundled do you prefer to test all the patterns or pick and choose which ones you test?
One part of the bundle at a time.
All the parts of the bundle.
I don’t test patterns but I like answering poll questions.

Follow on Ribblr or IG to get testing, pattern, and giveaway notifications.
That was my instinct, too, but it can take awhile for folks to complete a test for even one tiny design since they’re kindly donating their time for testing.
Looks like one at a time has a big lead right now! So maybe a hybrid would be best, testers get the whole bundle and can pick and choose what they’d like to test.
If this was my pattern, I would let testers do either one fruit (or more)/the whole basket, but I would make sure every part of the pattern would be tested
Thanks, that’s what I’m leaning towards! Never fear, all my patterns are tested by multiple testers. And in the rare times I need an extensive rewrite, I get new tests so reviews are accurate. I try to be a diligent designer to avoid disappointing anyone who uses my patterns.
@Anion you bet, you’ve done such great tests for me before. Do you want to test the whole bundle or just part? I only have the apple/orange, lemon, and pear ready for testing today. I’m working on writing up the basket and banana this week and the grapes are WIPs.
I love how versatile crochet is! I’ve made some little things for keychains, ornaments, and even have some teensy ghost earrings I commissioned @Solne to make for me.
Big chenille crochet fruits and foods would be so fun for reuseable water “balloon” sets. You could have a fun “food fight”!
And I voted against testing all the pieces. Only because there will be a basket and 4 to 6 fruits. My suggestion is to test “as a minimum” the basket and 3 fruits of the testers choice. There will always be testers who fall so in love that they do all the pieces anyway!
I suppose it also depends on how short your deadline is.
(As an afterthought, how about offering 2 sizes of baskets?)
Good ideas, thanks! I did have trouble fitting all the fruit in that I wanted to. What do you think about this basket and a larger bushel type basket? I have a draft for a bushel I thought it would be cute full of apples or pumpkins.
For something like this it would need a longer deadline but I would require testers to show progress partway through to stay in the test group.
