I HAVE ART BLOCKkKkkkk
Ok, so I’ve had art block for the past uh I don’t even know like months or so. I haven’t done art in ages. I’ve tried, but it ends up looking horrible and there’s so many factors that have held me back from starting like my perfectionism and things like that, but I got a new sketchbook and a stickers to make it look cute, but I still don’t even know what to put on the first page !!please help!! I have no inspiration whatsoever ~ <3 cozy
Doodle a bunch of stuff, you’ll find inspiration. Maybe treat yourself to new pencils or something.
Oh I’m telling you I have WAY TOO MANY art supplies like name it and I probably have it I think I might be a wee bit addicted to buying art supplies and yarn
Draw yourself! And put your name and interests and have cool stickers and mini doodles around your you and have that be the first page! I always do that
Take one medium of art supply, choose at random an object or animal, food, or clothing and use that medium to paint it.
If you have pastels/chalk and big sketchbook papers, use the flat side of the chalk that is the long side, and make a petal shape. Repeat this untill you have flowers. You can make one or multiple. Use colored pencils/pens and make stems, leaves, and details on the flower petals
Take any medium of paint, line up in any order the colors in dollops. Use a piece of crumpled paper, and lightly dab into one color at a time and create a gradient going up. There will be holes but thats ok. Use a pen that is the opposite color on the color wheel and outline the gaps. Color them in and then draw flowers in them.
Take acryllic and or watercolor and make them rlly liquidy. Take a syringe or straw and squirt it on canvas or paper. But do this in aplace that you and your parents dont mind getting dirty. After, use your imagination and paint worlds inside the splats on your canvas.
Find a new hyperfixation and draw that. Or scroll on Pinterest to find a cute outfit to draw your character in! Maybe even try a new aesthetic for a new character (if you’re even into that, haha-)! Or make a new character/ref sheet.
I also find that doodling helps too. Start with the corners and work your way in.
I literally just draw whatever like ducks, cats, dragons are my main go-to’s… If I feel there’s something I could work on like different cat positions ill try to draw it just randomly… stuff like that. Sometimes i feel like drawing realistically so I’ll take a reference photo and either trace it or try to copy it. I also have a big interest in buying art supplies and yarn so I sometimes just pick them up and sort them all or draw random things/look up photos/vids of people using them… and all that. sorry thats a lot of writing
