question about bobble stitch

im aware bobble stitches are 5dc in the same stitch but if your project is made using sc do you do the bobble in dc or sc???

Bobble stitches are most commonly double crochet (not always 5 of them but that is common)

Searching YouTube however there is a single crochet version

Treble crochet bobble crochet stitches also exist

It NEEDS to be specified because there are a lot of ways to do them. Same with knitted bobbles

they most likely mean double crochet bobble. :]
