What do y’all think differentiates a pattern between being begginer, advance, or expert?

This is the industry standard in the USA. Wish designers would put the correct proficiency on their patterns.
I see a lot of beginner patterns that should be intermediate.

I would say that a beginner pattern is one with little to no color changes, and pretty much just increases, decreases, and singles, depending on the pattern. I would say it’s intermediate if it has more color changes, more complex stitches, or just harder in general. Advanced would be if it has pretty hard stitches, a lot of color changes, extra details, and maybe a lot of embroidery.

This might just be me but advanced/ intermediate patterns which need the same tension all the time like animals with clothing or pattern making small stuff like how do I do 5 rounds of 3 sc. also micro crochet like crocheting with thread looks so hard.

For me, it’s advance when I have to start using the stitch tutorials. Beginner would be only the basic stitches (ch, sl st, sc, & dc) and simple continuous rounds or ch1 turns. Expert? When the finished product looks like a professional item you might find in a store.
