I got into crocheting bc my sister bought me a crochet kit when I was very little. She knit, and wanted me to get into a yarn craft. I couldn’t figure ito ut until much much later cause my brain couldn’t process the instructions and I am left handed and she is right handed so it made it that much more difficult. Once I got crochet down, I decided to teach myself how to knit. So I am a self taught crocheter, knitter, and many other crafts. ^^

Also have u noticed that ^ left hand knits

My mom taking me to our local yarn store and that taught me to knit. Then I went to my neighbors house for knitting sessions. My aunt sent me a crochet kit and I learned about crochet and then I’m starting making plushies, so now that that’s why I knit and crochet.

Well I got a crochet kit from my grandma, and 3 years later my teacher started teaching us (homeschooled) and it unfolded from there!

We were homeschooled growing up, and my mom would often coordinate co-ops with other homeschooled families in our area. One summer, she asked a very talented friend to show us kids a little about fiber crafts. We were all intrigued, and she invited us back throughout the summer and taught us how to do the basic stitches. That was over 15 years ago now, and a I’ve been crocheting ever since!

I wanted to be a stay at home mom so I opened a dayhome. This gave me the flexibility to be at home for my children and still have an income. I started with knitting scarves then gradually went to making blankets for each of them. I hope they still have them because the corner to corner crochet patterns is what I choose to use. In all this I also had one of my boys volunteer for a non profit so I practiced making wash cloths for the homeless. Now I’m making all sorts of things and it’s definitely a skill I’ve dedicated a lot of energy into. My grandma was my inspo.

It all started in grade 2 my bestie was better at me in EVERYTHING she was smarter, faster. She knew how to crochet so i tried working on them one by one i had a private tutor i got 1st in track and field (right now). Still, i didn’t know how to crochet i told my mom i wanted to learn it and as we all know it’s hard to give yarn. Hence, my friend gave me this bright red ball of yarn io still have it today. Still, i rarely use it beleive it or not my mom new how to crochet. She taught me how to make a chain i was happy after and started watching tutorials i remember the first stitch i learnt was double crochet. A slip stitch and then one day my mom showed me a tiktok on sc a year later she put me in crochet lessons at a feild of a pool and i learnt how to make so many things! But not plushies yet. Those lessons ended at the end of summer break. After that, I started having online lessons with the same person, but she had a baby, and I had to stop my lessons. Since I couldn’t wait for her to be free, I just started exploring by myself and found ribblr! I started making plushies like crazy after that!

I have always been crafty. My grams taught me when i was about 6, i couldnt do much more than a chain at that point. Off and on i dabbled with it, throughout my teens, same yarn and hook grams gave me…not ever getting far. Then i became a mom. My eldest son was in 1st grade and angry birds game came out and it was all down hill from there. He got a hat, then my other son, then an entire cub scout pack for their halloween float. And it just snow balled. I have been crocheting regularly since 2009 and as a business vending since 2011. It is my passion

Hmm I’d have to say seeing other people, mostly creators on socials, making unique toys and clothes was what made me want to try! It’s so fun and freeing to be able to turn your dream items into reality!
