what’s your BIGGEST crochet ick? For me it has to when thin/acrylic yarn breaks in half mid stitch and leaves me with a ugly stitch.

ooh- I hate the sound of when my metal crochet hook gets dropped onto the hardwood floor, but that can’t be my biggest ick…
lemme think >:D
I hate when patterns are written so weirdly you can’t understand them without sitting there and translating it in your head, lol

Some of these may or may not cause some problems to others :rofl:

  • The squeaking acrylic sometimes makes when crocheting :confounded_face:
  • Natural cotton yarn (leaves my hands feeling icky :melting_face: it also breaks easily for me…) mercerized cotton is okay though :face_with_peeking_eye:
  • chenille yarn: the FLUFF IS IN MY MOUTH! MY HAIR! MY CLOTHES! ahem I like chenille yarn :relieved_face:

Not really an ick, but:

  • When any of the yarn is slightly different sizes even though it’s the same brand :melting_face:
  • When the acrylic yarn is so cheap, it breaks when I try to close up my magic ring :sob:

oooh i like this topic! in no particular order this is just how they came into my mind;

  1. When yarn squeaks
  2. ai patterns
  3. when there isnt a gc for a pattern test
  4. ai crochet pictures
  5. people saying that they could make it like right to my face (people who dont craft or crochet)
  6. my cats knocking over my yarn or cutting the working string
  7. factory knots
  8. not having enough time to crochet

The acrylic yarn squeking, losing crochet hook and markers, when somebody is not grateful for this thing i crocheted, when a persons pattern is confusing towards the end and you did most of it

Those crochet products in Walmart, shein, or drop shipping because its litterally impossible for a robot to emulate crochet stitches

So many people are payed unfairly:( I always say to buy from a small business since it’s always better and your not supporting endless human labor. Also the lies of “machine crochet”……
