Looking for all kinds of trinket ideas!
Hi everyone!!! I went to my first ever renfaire with my bestie a few days and it was so much fun!!! Before we even entered the actual renfaire and drove along the parking lot, our conclusion was that we have to go again next year.
Anyways, what we didn’t know that there also was trinket trading. I have seen this in American renfaires, but I am from The Netherlands.
We are already starting with making trinkets because… uhhmmm… why not? These are what we have planned to make so far:
- Real glass potion bottles (what should we put in them???)
- Keychains
- Bracelets
- Shells with mini clay mermaids in them
- Mini fairies/gnomes/etc
- Super tiny hanging plants
- I already made some tiny amigurumis (leftovers from market)
Still looking for more ideas!!! It can be anything, as long as it is not too hard or expensive to make!!!

You could put beads in the potion bottles instead of stuffing to make it kinda fidgety

Ooh, I think I may have the perfect thing. I just made mine this morning.
Necklaces. This one literally took me 2 1/2 hours to make.
Just 6 strands of Premier Yarn City life ladder yarn Super easy. Just a row of chaining on down each one
Are we allowed to attach YouTube patterns here. If so I can add in to he link if you want to see
The yarn is a bit on the expensive side BUT I only used about 1/10th of it. So you should be able to make at least 10 per skein, which isn’t bad.
That yarn is SO beautiful. Of course it looks nicer when you see it on person

I don’t remember who did it, but I believe someone made a dragon with beads on it. That could be a cool idea!!
Here’s some patterns I found:

Wow I would love to go to a Renfaire! I don’t think there are any in my country, and if they are they’re definitely not in my small town.
For the trinkets I think these bead animals would be nice, I’m pretty sure there’s plenty of tutorials on YouTube and the internet

Haha! I wouldn’t say that, but thanks!
First, I would look over your faire’s rules on trinket trading, some don’t allow things line glass, or things that you made (for fear of you trying to sell them)

I asked the woman who told us about the trinket trading about rules, but she said there weren’t any (she was a volunteer there)

you should get the little mini plastic ducks! i’ve seen them everywhere :)
Ideas:
- fill the potion bottles with moss, pebbles, fake/dried flowers, glitter or resin (to resemble liquid) Liquid might not be great as it will evaporate and there’s such a tiny amount of it in the bottle. You could mix glow in the dark or uv colour changing pigment into the resin for a cool magical potion effect. Or if you’re fine with the liquid eventually evaporating you could try this.
Nature-y things:
-
press any flowers you find outside (daisies, buttercups, cherry blossoms) in a book and get mini picture frames to put them in. As a bonus you could get tacky magnetic sheets and put a couple strips on the back of the frame. I’ve never done this before but it’s something that sounds cool as I press flowers often.
-
collect a bunch of rocks outside (nothing fancy) and grow moss on them. make sure to tell whoever you trade with to spritz the moss to keep it alive.
Random items (not handmade)
marbles
waterproof stickers
old fancy keys
dice
little figurines (dinos, ducks, etc.)
tiny stamps
if you have a Micheal’s near you, their “Found Objects” collection is cool!
