Say hello to Eddie @eddiexxx - our new Ribblr of the Week and designer behind Elodie Creates! ![]()
Tell us a little about yourself:
Hi! My name is Eddie, a teen crater who loves squishmallows, purple, taylor swift, and hamsters! I have 3 pet hamsters called panini, pimento, and fennec who are all insane, but my world - yes, more than yarn ![]()
. In my room, you will find: 150 squishmallows, swiftie posters galore, a bunch of pets at home hamster care guides, all my yarn, and my metal darning needles that seem to be disappearing… SHH DON’T TELL ANYONE!!
When did you start rafting and how?
I started crocheting in late 2024 when I did loomigurumi and realized - wait - this is crochet with loom bands?! With the help of an old ball of yarn, a wooden crochet hook, and a trusty youtube tutorial, I made a kind of square shape I guess. After a few days, we went to the shop and bought 2 balls of fluffy yarn, and I made my first amigurumi project - a weird duck because I couldn’t get the ears of a bunny right ![]()
And how did you start designing?
I think my first pattern was a scrunchie, which I freehanded, and then I decided to write the pattern down. When I found Ribblr, I opened a shop and released it - I remember getting so excited that I got 6 followers in one night, that I just started making more and more! Fun Fact: The octopus ice cream idea was my sisters, using the octopus pattern I had written in my head ![]()

Do you have a favorite craft type?
Definitely crochet!! I love making plushies soo much, and the joy I see on little kids faces when they get bought a plush axolotl or dino is just soo fun to see! ![]()

What was the most memorable project you worked on?
This one is quite hard… ermmm… probably a scunchie I made with my little cousin. While I made it, she showed me a crochet plushie she had bought - but told me she made it, bearing in mind she was 5! It was a pusheen cat in grey, but when I said ‘Could you show me how you make it’ she said ‘No, because I would need red and orange and yellow and green and blue and purple and pink and brown and white and black and grey’
What are you currently working on? Be honest - how many WIP do you have right now?
Currently, I am designing a pattern for… a 6 in 1 splooting animals on cupcakes! I used this super fluffy yarn called YETI for the frosting ad it was soo hard but looks soo good ![]()
I will only add a picture of one animal so it doesn’t spoil the surprise!
Which of your makes/designs are you most proud of?
I think my favorite design is my current pattern I am working on (explained in a different section!), my unreleased pattern, or my chickie pop. My fave make is either my purple elephant or my wobbly mallard that used up all of my brown yarn I have
Definitely worth it though, he is sooo wobbly and derpy!
What is your usual process of designing?:
I think I just go with it usually. I picture it in my head, frog a bit, and voilà! A new pattern!
What inspires you to create/design?:
Usually I will look around my house for an old stuffed toy food, and an old stuffed toy animal, then put those 2 together (e.g s’mores cat, octopus ice cream).
Any favorite song, book or movie you would like to recommend?:
EEEEKK!! Song - Sweeter than fiction or epiphany by Taylor SWift. Too underrated but my favourites rn. Book: Skandar and the unicorn thief by A.F Steadman, or the Bronte Mettlestone books by Jaclyn Moriarty. Film: Marvel, The Eras Tour, and Futurama ( aseries, but still great).
What is your favorite feature on Ribblr?
I think my favorite feature on Ribblr is crossing out lines on an epattern, it is just sooo good for someone like me who always seems to find patterns with like a billion lines of ‘sc around’
What socials can folks find you on? (Feel free to link!):
Currently I am only on ribblr, but I will be getting an etsy soon, which will probably be called Elodie Creates!
Which 3 - 5 designers/patterns on Ribblr are your favorite?
Ooh now this is my FAVOURITE part! Huge thank you to @katz2 @Watermelon1234 @MiaowCrochet @CakeGirl42 @LivforHimCrochet for making sure my market prep is worth it! Also, thank you sooooo much to my ribblr family for helping me with ideas for all my patterns - u guys are AMAZING!!!
