Say hello to Matleena @maatu1 - our new Ribblr of the Week and the designer behind Kawaiiotakucrafts 
Tell us a little about yourself:
I’m Matleena, a parent to two kids, 4 dogs, 2 bunnies and a cat! I’m a true nerd and a full on weeb. I can even speak a little japanese! Games, anime and manga are all important to me and I love to do fanart of my favorite characters. I actually have a kitchen full of art and figurines!
When did you start crafting and how?
I actually started knitting back in middle school, but I only started to crochet 3 years ago! My son wanted an alolan vulpix plushie so I tried to make one. I watched tutorials and learned by myself. I still can’t read patterns in any other language than english and I’m from Finland. Finnish pattern books just make no sense for me. It’s kinda funny.
How did you start designing?
I actually did my very first pattern for a Ribblr challenge! I designed a bag and opened a shop just for it.
Do you have a favorite craft type and if so - why?
I love crochet. Knitting is nice too but for me it is just easier to work with only one hook! And there are endless possibilities with crochet. You can literally make anything! Also I love everything cute and soft and there are so many cute plushies and accessories to do!
What was the most memorable project you worked on?
I’ll have to say it was the bag I made for my first pattern. It was a journey and I leaned a lot. The bag is still my daughter’s favorite!
What inspires you to create?
It can be something as simple as seeing a cute animal or a character I like or spotting a pretty color or shape. Inspiration usually just hits me out of the blue. I don’t plan ahead or think too much, I just take the inspiration and turn it into crochet.
What are you currently working on? Be honest - how many WIP do you have right now?
Hmm… I really don’t even know how many wips I have 
Atleast 10. And that’s a low estimate. I’m working on a few bags and dragons! Also I’m working on my KDH patterns.
Which of your makes/designs are you most proud of? Share a picture!
I’m super proud of my Macaron Hatsune Miku and Xie Lian & Hua Cheng from Heaven official’s blessing. These are the first dolls I’ve created and their clothes are fully removable! Miku’s dress is my absolute favorite.
What is your usual process of designing?
It always starts with a passing idea. That would be cute or fun is the usual start 
Then I start to think about the shape and stucture I need to create. Then I just pick the yarn and start crocheting. I just write down what I’m doing as I go.
Any favorite song, book or movie you would like to recommend?
I’ve been listening a lot of Straykids lately and I have to say their song Cover me is one of my favorites
What is your favorite feature on Ribblr?
Now this is a hard one! Hmm… freebie fridays? I love the designing tools. Creating patterns in Ribblr is super easy and the system is so easy to use. Thank you for that!
