Tell us a little about yourself:
Hi! I’m MegaSunfish, and I own the Sunfish Shop. I’ve been crocheting for 3 years, and I like making amigurumi. My favorite animal is the ocean sunfish (duh) and I play basketball, volleyball, and I run cross-country. I’m currently in school and work on *not release* patterns every day.
When did you start crafting and how?
I started crafting when I got a wobbles kit 3 years ago. I actually had to restart it multiple times, and everything went up from there!
And how did you start designing?
I started designing when I couldn’t find any good, free patterns. Everything either cost money or was hard to read, and I trusted myself, so I made something really simple. My mesh cropped sweater.
Do you have a favorite craft type?
Definitely crocheting- it’s the only one I can do! I mean I can sew but I suck…
What was the most memorable project you worked on?
Most likely the current project I’m working on- granny square pants!
What are you currently working on? Be honest - how many WIP do you have right now?
Ok I have like 5 WIPs- a crochet amigurumi of my dog, granny square pants, cropped tank top, tube top, and more!
Which of your makes/designs are you most proud of?
My tennis ball because I had to figure out how to make a lot of shapes and I had to embroider.
What is your usual process of designing?:
I pick a reference pic, start crocheting, and make adjustments as I go along.
What inspires you to create/design?:
I usually take inspiration from cool animals and clothes I wish I could have, and my friends cheer me on.
Any favorite song, book or movie you would like to recommend?:
Ok hear me out: Sabrina Carpenter and Katseye, Dream academy and xo kitty, and the Perks of Being a Wallflower.
What is your favorite feature on Ribblr?
Definitely the journals- it’s so cool seeing other people make your patterns.
