Say hello to Natalie (@cosmiccrochet) - our new Ribblr of the Week and the designer behind Cosmic Crochet 
Tell us a little about yourself:
My name is Natalie. When I’m not crocheting I enjoy reading, exploring nature, playing guitar and spending time with friends and family. I’m currently on a 5 month long cross country road trip running cosmic crochet from my camper!
When did you start crafting and how?
For as long as I can remember I have always been an avid crafter. Once I discovered YouTube I became obsessed with doing DIY projects. In the spring of 2022 I was looking to learn a new craft and that’s when I started crocheting!
How did you start designing?
I started designing fairly soon into my crochet journey. I would combine different stitches and techniques that I learned until I got a good grasp on how to construct clothing. Once I developed more of an understanding of creating the structure of different clothing I was able to express the designs I came up with in my head.
Do you have a favorite craft type and if so - why?
My favorite craft is crocheting! I love that there is always more to learn and different techniques to try out. There are so many avenues of expression with crochet
What was the most memorable project you worked on?
My most memorable project to work on was my flower sweater pattern! I learned a lot throughout the process of designing and creating the sweater and I’m very proud of that creation.
What are you currently working on? Be honest - how many WIP do you have right now?
I’m currently in a rare moment where I am in between projects! I just finished creating a wholesale order and decided to give my hands the day off today. My most recent project was a front tie shrug,
Which of your makes/designs are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my wrap top design and my flower sweater design!
What is your usual process of designing?
Typically I will draw out an idea. I then think about what stitches will best match the initial drawing. I then create a second drawing that more closely shows the different components of the project and stitches. Then based on the drawing I freehand the project while writing down my steps. If changes are needed I will remake the design with the necessary alterations.
What inspires you to create/design?
I love being able to make my own clothing. It is an incredible feeling to wear a piece of clothing I spent hours making. I love being able to teach other crocheters how to make their own clothes!
Any favorite song, book or movie you would like to recommend?
I’ve been loving everything by Freida McFadden! Great for anyone who likes crime mysteries.
What is your favorite feature on Ribblr?
I really like the copy and paste feature- I use it every time I write up a pattern on Ribblr! It makes it so easy to convert a pdf to the interactive format on Ribblr.
