Hi! Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Salvatore, I’m 23 and I’m originally from Italy! I’ve been living for the last 3 years in Germany & I have a Bachelor’s degree in foreign languages and literatures.

When did you start crafting and how?
Since I was a young boy I’ve always loved keeping my mind and my hands busy: I’ve literally destroyed entire packages of pastel colors because I would draw every day for hours! I’ve learned to sew, to knit, to paint, to create digital illustrations, to edit and film videos… a bit of everything at a very young age and I still love all this to this very day.

And how did you start designing?
It was actually pretty random. I had picked on crocheting only 1 month before designing and creating my first pattern. I knew absolutely nothing but how and when to increase and decrease. My first pattern was for a pumpkin pie called Pia the Pie!

Do you have a favorite craft type and if so - why?
I love crocheting because it allows me to shut down the world around me and enter my own. I literally zone out, listen to some white noise playlist on YouTube and concentrate on the repetitive movements that almost hypnotize me. It’s mesmerizing and I love it!

That sounds fantastic! What was the longest project you worked on?
It was actually my first ever crochet project ahaha a Harry Styles inspired cardigan. It took me 3 weeks!

And the shortest one? (excluding frogging!)
Mh, probably Beanie the Sloth, my own design of a bean looking sloth!

What are you currently working on? Be honest - how many WIP do you have right now?
Is this even a real question? I don’t really know how many WIPs are hidden around the house. I’m currently finalizing a few patterns I’m going to release in the upcoming weeks!

Which of your makes & designs are you most proud of? Share a picture!
I’m absolutely in love with my Freddy Bear design. Probably one of the most tricky to come up with, but definitely one of the most satisfying to make.

What is your usual process of designing?
It usually start with me not sleeping at night and drawing down all the things that come up in my head. I sketch them, then lose the drawings, then sometimes find them again and then I create a pattern for it. My personal rule is to think in “simple shapes”, everything starts with that!

What inspires you to create?
My younger self. As a kid I’ve always been very creative and I’ve never let “adulthood” take that away from me. I take care of the child that still lives in me & he gives me a lot of inspiration in return.

That’s fantastic! And now for some pop culture.
Any favorite song, book or movie you would like to recommend?
I personally love Pop music, so any song by Lady Gaga, Cher or Christina Aguilera would be absolutely recommended to anyone! Reading is another big passion of mine, I’m currently reading Circe by Madeline Miller and oh boy I recommend it!!! I’m not a big fan of movies, low attention span you know? Ahah, I do love Tv series tho! Rn I’m obsessed with Heartstopper. It’s on Netflix, have a watch!! You won’t regret it.

Care to share a funny story that happened to your recently?
I’ve recently gone viral for a reel in which I was crocheting a cute, green Dino. The funny part? I went viral because people kept (and keep) commenting that my Dino reminds them of something else…

What is your favorite feature on Ribblr?
Oh my goodness, is “everything” a possible answer? It’s definitely the portability: you literally have every single pattern you want in ONE APP! No need to download any file, no need to install any softwares. Easy, accessible everywhere and at any time. Crazy good!

Awesome! Lastly - pay it forward - your shoutout to a fellow Ribblr
Definitely have a look at everything @tinybunnycrochet creates! I love her, she’s such a good friend and a great crochet artist!

Thank you for sharing! :purple_heart:
