Say hello to Sarah @Curiositythecowcrochet - our new Ribblr of the Week and the designers behind Curiosity the cow crochet ![]()
Tell us a little about yourself:
My name is Sarah, and I fell in love with crocheting when I was in college. I initially started by crocheting a scarf, which took me hours of frustration. Once I figured it out, I was so excited about all the possibilities of what I could make! From there, I branched out to trying amigurumi as well as wearables. I also desperately want to learn how to knit! There’s just something about knitted socks!
Do you have a favorite craft type and if so - why?
Like many crafters, I like to dabble in many craft types! Though I primarily focus on crochet, as it is what I am most familiar with, I am also working on knitting and sewing projects. I also like to find ways to tie these crafts together.
What inspires you to create?
Typically, I am inspired by food and nature! I love to make food animals, whether it’s pun-related, characteristics of creatures, or both. I have been a little quieter recently because I am expecting at the end of this month, which has shifted my inspiration to be more baby-focused. I plan to get back into the swing of things designing soon!
What are you currently working on? Be honest - how many WIP do you have right now?
Which of your makes/designs are you most proud of? Share a picture!
The two designs I am most proud of are Ellie the Stegosmore Dinos’more and my Sundae Bat!
What is your usual process of designing?
My usual design process starts with a little concept sketch and looking around social media to see if anything that matches what’s in my brain already exists. I have found some really fun patterns this way! From there, I start crocheting, writing down each row and any notes that might help. I have found Ribblr incredibly helpful in the process of designing, as it helps me keep focused and organized, as well as the testing function.
What is your favorite feature on Ribblr?
It is hard to choose just one feature! I love the testing function on Ribblr both as a tester and as a designer. I find testing patterns to be lots of fun and allows me to try patterns I otherwise might not.
Where can people find you online?
I am currently only on Instagram @curiosity_the_cow_crochet and Ribblr!
Take over our feed! Who are some designers on Ribblr deserve some love??
Some of my favorite designers are Lemon Yarn Creations, CrochetbyKelsie, and Knotmonster! One of the great things about Ribblr is exposure to so many different designers and styles!
Thanks so much for being here Sarah, it was a pleasure to read about you!
