Safety eyes

Hey! does anyone have any tips for putting in safety eyes?
when i try to put on the backing of the safety eyes i always end up struggling and hurting my fingers :smiling_face_with_tear:

Mine are easier to put on if I used the tips of my nails, maybe its the brand?

My husband 3d printed me a tool cause i had a hard time. You can find them on Amazon too. There are 2 kinds. One is just a flat piece that you set the eye into and press down. The ones I use are like pliers. One side is curved for the eye and the other has a hole for the post

There are devices you can buy that have different sized holes that you can use to put the back onto then the stem of the eye and press. It makes it really easy. There is also a safety eye pliers. You can find them all over the internet, Amazon, Etsy, etc. Just search for safety eye gizmo or pliers.

In the meantime, find yourself something with a hole just small enough for the stem of the eye and set the back on it and then press the stem down onto it and through the hole. Save your fingers and nails!! :nail_polish:t4:

I just use a size bigger backing so it’s easier to put on

I let the backings sit in hot water for a while. Because it’s plastic, it gets more flexible when warm

i have used a lighter to melt some of the backings but that’s only helped when i needed a bigger size :thinking:

I battle as well I ask dad haha but I always melt the backs :rofl: there is a lady on Instagram crojomojo if I’m not mistaken who sells a tool on her Etsy called DarbysCrojoMojo :hugs:
