Hey yall. So I sell physical plushies on my etsy, and I was considering just spraying them with some light perfume (like a softer smell, not so painful). I had a friend who, whenever she gave me like a stuffed animal, it always had a very small amount of, but super nice perfume on it and I loved that she did that. And I feel like if people are like “oh this smells nice” when they get the plush rather than smelling the plastic it’s been wrapped up in for days, that would be good. I have some non-chemical, not super stank perfume my mom gave me cuz she doesn’t want me using that B&BW stuff. But I know some people are really sensitive to scents sooooo… is it worth it?
I think it’s a good idea, as long as the smell isn’t too strong, and it smells good :]
(Edit: or not ig… didn’t know it was an allergy problem…)
Make it very clear the plushie is scented in the listing!! If anything has the slightest scent of perfume I have to wash it like 20 times and put it outside until the smell goes away. I get severe migraines and small rashes wherever fragrance touches me (typically on my hands)
I wouldn’t. You could recommend they lightly spray their favorite smell instead.
In my opinion, I wouldn’t. There are a lot of people out there that are sensitive/allergic to scents like that. :)
hi! as someone who has very severe allergies, asthma, and general breathing/lung problems following a lung collapse a few years ago, please do not do this without permission from the buyer! like others said, if you really wanted to, you could maybe put a dropdown option on etsy asking if they would like the plushie sprayed with perfume or not, but i would not recommend doing it without express permission of the person buying. a lot of people will assume that a home is smoke-free and/or pet-free when purchasing things, so i think this also tends to apply to scents such as perfume or air fresheners as well. if i received a package with a strong scent like that without prior warning, i may end up having an asthma attack. i think it’s a sweet idea to want to do something like that, but i definitely would not recommend it due to the possibility of severe allergic reactions or reactive airway problems. /genuine /not mad
Maybe do half scented and half not??? And just label the ones scented so ppl know to get unscented if they are sensitive to smells or have allergies???
Oh srry i thought this was a market lol for online i agree with the others… give the option for scents but dont just do it for all :)
oh gosh thats terrible
I think it’s a really cool idea and from view of a person who is totally ok with these, like I have one allergy and that’s all, I think it’s a very great and cool idea. But if I look at the other people’s view…maybe at the online shop, add a “check” where person csn click if they want it/no? Idk, hope I helped a bit.
