I obviously have plenty of yarn, but opening my shop, and slowly changing my style from smaller items to bigger projects all my scrap balls are now almost useless. Im buying new yarn as I run out and these small balls kinda get shoved aside.
I always try to be more sustainable by using as much yarn out of each skein as I can… So I do keep my scrap balls.

Honestly, I pull it apart and use it as filling rather than poly fill
I honestly didnt even think people just left their scraps for birds- they shouldn’t be using whats essentially trash for the nests imo

Depending on how much you have
My bag chains have been such a fun project to use up my scraps
If they are tiny
I pull them apart and brush them out and spin it into different yarn
Sometimes if they are small but not small enough to let myself brush it put and respin
I make little hearts or whatever tiny things i think of that i can use for future projects or to add in letters of whatever

I use as stuffing, or, i know a lot of people love patchwork simple teddy bears! Ive made “scrappy buddies” for different events and usually sell out. I just collect similar weights if i have a mini skein left, and do that. If its literal scraps of a few inches, i brush them out with a dog brush or mix them up in polyfil to use as stuffing!
The patchwork is an awesome idea!
I either use like colors as filling or magic knot the ends together to make a yarn ball for future projects.
What about making a scrap blanket? With
either granny squares or a simple 2" by 2" square. I suppose it all depends on how mich scrap yarn you have left too.

I typically toss my ends that are long enough in a bag for embroidering my plushies but for amounts that can be used for say a larger item i save those for a scrap item.
