Scrump Crochet Along

Hi everyone! I’m planning a Crochet Along (CAL) for October. I wanted to gauge interest, and give anyone who wants to join time to gather materials
I’ve never hosted a CAL before, but I figured this thread would be a good starting point for us to crochet together.

The pattern is Scrump from Lilo and Stitch.

I’ve attached the schedule below for when each part of the pattern will be available. I will post a YouTube video every Monday in October with that week’s section of the pattern fully worked out in video form. I will also be editing a free written pattern here on Ribblr every Monday to add in that week’s instructions, so you have two different ways to follow along. After the CAL is over, the pattern here on Ribblr will change from free to paid.

There’s no official sign-up for this CAL. Just post below if you’re interested, and post your progress as the CAL goes on.

Materials:

Bulky Yarn (or you can choose any yarn weight)
Green - 100 grams
Blue - 10 grams
Yellow - 20 grams
Black - 2 grams
Pink - 40 grams

5mm Crochet hook

Awesome! I think we can use this thread to post our progress, and I’ll post when each section of the pattern goes live  I love stitch too! I was inspired to make this Scrump for my niece who is obsessed with stitch right now!

Have any of you seen the new option here for video patterns? Ribblr basically takes a YouTube video and turns it into a written pattern with a link to the original video.
Would you all prefer that I release each weekly Scrump CAL instructions in a normal written pattern or this new video pattern option?

I’d be happy with either one.

Id love to join this crochet along! My daughter’s friend and her mom are obsessed with everything Lilo ans Stitch, and I think both of them would love to have their very own Scrump :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I think I’ll go with a regular pattern for now. The video patterns are still new, and I’m not sure they’ll translate well for a longer video. But I can always switch them over later.

Welcome! My niece is also obsessed with Lilo and Stitch, and she’s who inspired this pattern. She was over the moon when she got him, and now I’m looking into making special patterns for her two sisters. Auntie crochet duties never end haha.

LOVING this pattern so far! I got up to row 33 tonight and can’t wait to do the rest of this section tomorrow!

I didn’t have a bright green color but I’m happy with the green I chose. I also went with a 6.5 mm hook because that’s my favorite hook.

So excited to see the other parts of the pattern and get my completed Scrump!

I’ve been out of the crochet game for a bit. I have some big twist stashed away and this green is perfect! My kids are going as lilo and stitch for Halloween and this will be perfect for my daughter. I’m planning on adding some temporary straps to it so she can kind of carry it like a Crossbody bag. Here’s my progress so far this morning. I’m gonna finish it up here in a little bit.

It looks so good! I’m glad you’re loving the pattern so far.
I love the green you chose. It gives it a much more neutral look, which is so pretty! I’m about to dig through my yarn stash to make a mini version. Hopefully I have some green haha
