A few months ago I learned how to do seamless color changes. Ngl I’m surprised by how little recognition this tip is getting, so I just wanted to share it here in case you don’t know.
Seamless color change between rounds:
(Helpful if you do markets and sell bees, clownfish, etc. so the work looks cleaner)
Seamless color change for slanted changes:
Don’t forget to like the videos! (They ain’t mine I’m not promoting myself lol
)
Thanks!

lol i tried the first technique for a bee, but i find i like the jagged look better lol. also… i’m lazy
and tbh to me, the slanted edge - they look very similar…

I personally use the second technique in the first video because if I make the sl st loose it won’t look seamless and the tension is a bit hard to get right at first

I did a commission one time that involved a lot of color changing so I used this method. It’s time-consuming but it looks better imo. Although I’ll admit for making a ton of bees it is definitely easier to do it normally
It’s good that you know about this cuz if you ever wanted to make something with seamless color changes

i didn’t realize the video had 2 techniques - the one i tried was the second technique in the first video, lol. the first one i might try if i find a project that requires a color change like that lol

Oh yeah and the slanted edge looks really similar I tried it and didn’t notice anything mostly bc I don’t color change slanted stuff anyways since continuous rounds are kind of angled so it will never be straight

Chenille yarn looks cute with the jagged lines. Unfortunately I pretty much only ever use worsted ;-; the jagged lines drive me crazy

no but like… do you see how the last round in the green and the last round in the white on the right in the first video are kinda stretched out?? that’s what happens when you use that technique
(at least with acrylic for me)

no - i genuinely don’t have the time, also like… it’s too complicated to set up bc in my area our community is like jdncons so yeah :]

Yeah that’s front he tension. For some reason even if I make the top loop loosely it’s still a bit pinched inward
